The "Lightheart Longboards" brand/logo was created and established in 2019 by Michael Lightheart. As a chef/cook in the inner city and having been laid off from his day job at that time during Covid 19 in 2020, Michael had started buying selling and refurbishing used skateboards that he deemed worthy of reconditioning in his shop.  He'd then go about selling and flipping them as a sort of side hustle to help with minor bills and the everyday costs of living.

HVSK8 (Hidden Valley Skate) Shop was founded in 2024. "It's an idea, concept or channel if you will to honor what skateboarding has meant to me over the years. It's a way I feel I can give something back to the next generation of skaters, or just provide some form of insight with my past experiences to those who may be wanting or looking for more information on how to get started.  Born in 1984 and growing up in the 90's I've always been a fan of actually walking into a brick and mortar store and seeing something for the first time with my own eyes before proceeding to buy.  Yeah nowadays everything is online, its convenient, I get it and would be lying if I were to say I don't shop online. Call me old fashioned but I miss those times, they felt timeless.  Needless to say the shop is about community, identity and just having fun with what you love to do.  Everybody has their thing, I say do what you love, love what you do and feel good about it."
